Only one that has a proper understanding of wisdom, is one with a true appreciation for life.
Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find wisdom.
If an individual does not understand wisdom, you can know with certainty that individual does not know God.
All of humanity should understand parables, till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: (Eph 4 13 KJV)
There are no actual animals in parables, as what is true is the parables represent different ways people think. I will go through some parables, in no particular order, and every human can take the beam out of their own eye and see where they fit.
As God can not lie, the only bad words are words used in lies, false witnesses are abomination to him.
The parable of the ass in Numbers 22 is about understanding to turn the other cheek when you come across a story that attempts to lead you out of the way, which means away from Christ being that Christ is the way. But since the ass has only two cheeks he speaks up the third time to remain in the way. If one sees a farm animal in the parable that means they've been lead out of the way by a lie. The dumb ass, the servant of Ashur, who won't deny the truth three times, is different from the dumb ass that is Peter.
In the plagues of Exodus 8 it's about different ways different people think again. I'll get you started, and from there you can see if you can discern what the other plagues represent when it comes to one's nature of thought. This is about the understanding of spiritual discernment.
There are individuals that cherry pick the truth, the hop from truth to truth and over other truths as they see fit. Cherry pickers of the truth are portrayed as frogs. The pharaoh is surrounded, not by frogs, but by cherry pickers of the truth. The pharaoh gets Moses to gather up all the cherry pickers together, and all their stories stink. He doesn't let the cherry pickers go, as they that endure unto the end, in them shall be saved. Those that see actual frogs in the parable are those that cherry pick the truth, and their stories stink.

The parable of Elisha and the two she bears is about proper skepticism, 2Kings 2 24, it's about not judging a book by it's cover but by the weight of the word. Forty-two children that day learned this moral and they grew from little children to children in coming to learn this.
To teach a child to think properly as an adult should think, which is a spiritual growth so a child is no longer found but an adult is found instead, is called a child sacrifice.

In teaching an individual a proper understanding of wisdom they will be able to overcome their flight and fight instinct. It is a sacrifice of their animal nature coming to think as a human should actually think, which is why it is called an animal sacrifice.
When a man asks a lady for her hand in marriage, it's what is called cutting off her hand. No actual bludgeoning is going on.
